For the past three years, I’ve been spending a lot of time in Arizona. Recently, my family left the dark and rainy Seattle area and relocated to the hot and dry Phoenix area! There are many beauty challenges with a climate change like this, and I’ll blog more about that in coming weeks. Today I’m just going to share some fun accessories I recently purchased to jazz up my very casual Spring/Summer wardrobe. Simple cotton shorts and a t-shirt can look so fashionable with some killer jewelry (I am obsessed with statement necklaces), status sandals, and fabulous eye makeup!
So by now you realize I am obsessed with Sephora Formula X, so on a recent shopping trip I snapped this image of their latest shade/texture combo, “The Liquid Crystals“. I had a Sephora credit to use up, but didn’t end up taking the plunge. It’s interesting to see the colors other consumers are picking, isn’t it? You can see their orange shade (Magma) was completely sold out (and was my first choice as well) and the yellow (Highlighter) and green (Fluorescent) have only one bottle left!
These nail lacquers retail for $12.50 per bottle. Available at Sephora.com.

Better than black eye pencils like Laura Mercier Black Turquoise Kohl Eye Pencil.
Blush in a sunkissed bronze shade, NARS Luster.
Super colorful eye colors like Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil. I loved Deviant and Covet last year. This year’s equally bright hues would be Chaos and Junkie.
Budget-friendly favorite Rimmel London Natural Bronzer.
I know… I know… Spring just started. What can I say though, my mind is always on Summer. I’m in the process of moving to a warmer climate, so my thoughts have been on the colors that I can scoop out of my collection to wear when I arrive.
Here are some items I loved last year, that I’ll be grabbing again for those 80+ degree days.
Make Up For Ever Rouge Arist Intense 23 (satin beige), and other neutral lipstick shades!
Laura Mercier Illuminating Powder, to keep skin glowing!
NARS Casablanca Lipstick, that perfect coral shade!
Sephora Colorful Eyeshadow, because there has never been a better time for vivid eye makeup!
I recently launched an orange makeup board on pinterest. I’ve been having a blast curating boards with the best photos of vivid hues of color on the internet! I remember when orange was first introduced as trendy for lips, and it seemed so shocking! Today, orange is used on lid, tips, lips… everywhere!
News: I’m in the process of MOVING! I’ll tell you all more about that later, but for now, check out these links to some shades of orange makeup you can buy to liven up your look for Spring!
Sheer and Opaque shades of orange for the lips from Make Up For Ever, first introduced back in Spring ’10!
