Makeup-wise, I am always mad about fall! This year, Jouer has proclaimed the same with their Fall 2011 color cosmetics lineup!

Jouer Dusty Lipstick, Mad About Fall Collection

I wrote a post eons ago, about almost-black mascaras that featured subtle color like blue and purple. Well dear readers, things have CHANGED. The 80s are back, and I mean back in full-force. The big trend for eyes is color, and Make Up For Ever’s Smoky Couleur Fall 2011 collection contains brightly-hued mascaras like the Smoky Lash swatches above. [Read more...]

MAC Fluidline photograped above (l-r) Dark Envy, Midnight Blues and Avenue.
The jewel-tones of Fall are well represented in MAC Fluidline’s shade selection! This gel formula makes application easier, as it simply glides upon the surface of the skin. Simply pair a pot of color with a great liner brush, and watch the magic happen! [Read more...]

Sometimes I know what limited-edition products will sell out the second I get a press release from MAC. Color me surprised that One of a Kind lipstick (from MAC Semi Precious colour) is still available online! If you somehow missed this amazing collection, this shiny apricot/neutral hue is a winner for daytime wear.
Retail price is $14.50.

I’ve long been a fan of MAC Lipcreme. Unlike some long-wearing lipsticks, this formula applies smoothly and feels so emollient! A recent trip to the desert gave me the perfect opportunity to put one of the latest shades of MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme to the ultimate test. I bravely applied Positively Dashing (photo above), a mid-tone dusty pink shade (very ladylike!). After sipping a coffee in the terminal, and multiple drinks in-flight, I was amazed at how gorgeous the color looked in the miniscule mirror of the lavatory (seriously, I think my compact was larger). Just in time for Halloween makeup application, Make Up For Ever has launched Fluo Night, a translucent powder that contains pigments that glow under a black light! Not only does Fluo Night deliver a special, glowing look for fright-night… [Read more...]

I generally don’t have time to reapply makeup at all throughout my day, so it’s no surprise when I catch a glimpse of my reflection in the late morning, and my lips look totally bare. Regardless of poor staying power, I’m still a sucker for gloss! [Read more...]

I will admit, I was originally scared of the Evil Eye Shadow Quad from MAC. Part of the MAC Me Over collection, the shades in this palette seemed way too dark for ordinary Mommy day-wear. I simply couldn’t imagine how an eyeshadow palette this dark would translate. The good news for we soccer mom types is the palette mixes two higher-pigment shades (Moody and Palace Pedigreed) with two lower-pigment shades (Spellcaster and Evil Eye) that have more of a soft, watercolor appearance. As a result, MAC’s Evil Eye Shadow x4 CAN actually work during the day providing you make use of the sheerer shades for some balance. [Read more...]
It has been quite a while since I’ve written about the fabulous Poppy King, and her equally fab line of lip makeup Lipstick Queen. I’ve been eyeballing Kate Spade’s recently launched line of Supercalifragilipstick lipsticks, unsure of why exactly they keep catching my eye. That’s when I found out… Kate Spade’s new lipstick line is a collaboration between Kate and Poppy King! There’s simply something about Poppy’s style that always catches my attention, and her product is second-to-none, so one can only hope Kate Spade has also embraced Poppy’s
Currently, the online selection is just some classics: Pop Art Pink, Bashful Blush, Fuchsia Fete and Adventurous. Also offered by the brand are super cute makeup bags featuring swatches of all of the lipstick shades. I guess if you’d like to dabble in them, you’ll need to find a boutique near you!
Retail price is $24 per lipstick.
