New Year’s Eve is coming up fast and furious! For those of you who are (like me) nail art challenged, a great way to get a festive look for the biggest party day of the year is to use a top coat with a Splatter Paint effect over your manicure, like these Sephora Formula X shades. These confetti-inspired topcoats are called “Xplosives”, and depending on what colors you are looking for, the retail price ranges from $6 (some are on sale) to $12.50.
Turbulent combines turquoise and black confetti glitter. I personally love the way this shade stands out atop a white manicure.
Bionic is a great combination of black and a citusy green/yellow. When it comes to a Splatter Paint nail look, these colors are a great pick!
Meteoric is no longer online! Check your local retailer for this black/white combo. I am wild about it over a deep pink or red.
Wham is a great way to get into the snowy spirit of the season. This pure white confetti is the perfect topper for just about any shade, but my personal favorite is to pair it with a pale baby-blue.

First of all, before you panic, I want you to know that Aerin Beauty Rose Balm doesn’t smell like a blooming garden of roses. It does, however, harness the moisturizing power of ingredients extracted from roses.
Aerin Rose Balm is designed for moisturizing VERY dry skin anywhere on the body, so it’s great to have on hand this time of year. Lips, hands, elbows, knees… this product is the ultimate multi-tasker. It’s easy to apply, but keep in mind that it’s pressed firmly like a balm into the jar, and only a very little amount is needed for each application.
Aerin Rose Balm comes housed in a substantial glass jar with a gleaming golden lid. It’s perfect for perching on a vanity of dresser, as the look of the packaging almost works as a household accessory, it’s so gorgeous. This product is great for sensitive skin, and delivers an overall luxe experienece.
Retail price is $58.

I was recently using up a gift card and snagged a bunch of shades from the OPI Holland collection, from waaaaay back in 2012. What can I say, the colors from this collection still “speak” to me! One of my favorite neutral shades to wear these days is Wooden Shoe Like To Know. It’s a medium shade of chocolate with a week bit of a rusty shimmer to add interest. This is not your basic brown ladies, and is a nice modern neutral. [Read more…]
