MAC NEW Liptensity Collection

press-sampleIt isn’t often I have the privilege to play with makeup that is just so amazingly photogenic. I mean, these amazing limited-edition lipstick tubes from the MAC Liptensity collection are so gorgeous, I even had a blast playing with them before I actually applied the product to my lips!

To develop the collection, MAC tapped the talents of tetrachromat Maureen Seaberg.  Maureen is one of few with the genetic ability to see up to 100 million hues of color the average human eye can’t distinguish.  The result is a collection of 24 lipstick shades with amazing color payoff and lustre!  The new MAC Liptensity lipstick collection will be available online starting September 20, and on-counter from September 21-November 17, 2016.  Colors range from black to a pale neutral.  I’ll be publishing a more in-depth look at the collection tomorrow, including swatches of EVERY SINGLE COLOR!

Retail price is $21 US, and $25 CAD.

MAC Liptensity will be available at MACCosmetics.com! Other retailers that carry this MAC product line are Nordstrom.com, Bloomingdales.com, Macys.com and Saks.com.

Things I Buy From Sephora Over And Over

press-sampleI have fallen a bit behind with blogging, and while I’m working on bringing in some more new fall and holiday items for you to check out, I decided to post about some of my tried-and-true favorites when I’m shopping at Sephora. Some of these items I’ve received as press samples in the past, but I’ve replenished them over, and over, and over again!

Things I buy from Sephora over and over

Rather than feature what’s NEW in the beauty industry, I decided to feature some of my tried-and-true favorite products that I’ve purchased over and over again at Sephora. Some of these started off as press samples, but at this point I assure you I’ve spent a pretty penny of my own money on replenishment, because they were that awesome!

1) Klorane Shampoo With Mango Butter is ideal for my very dry hair, and the formula doesn’t irritate my scalp the way some shampoos do! I even pack some to bring with me on vacations. (Retail price $20)

2) Klorane Conditioning Balm With Mango Butter is the perfect match for the shampoo above, and leaves hair feeling super soft, healthy, and tangle-free! (Retail price $16)

3) Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencil delivers a soft, smoky look. I originally sampled them in a MEGA holiday value set (that I wish the brand would offer again–fingers crossed) and have replenished them many times over! I love these pencils in every color! (Retail price $18)

4) Algenist Repairing Tint & Radiance Moisturizer SPF 30 is one of my favorite multi-tasking foundations. This medium-coverage tinted moisturizer delivers a dewy finish, anti-aging ingredients, and sun protection at the same time! (Retail price $42)

5) Bobbi Brown Corrector is my long-time favorite under eye concealer. The slightly orange hue cancels out blue undereye circles like a champ. (Retail price $27)

6) Lancôme Definicils Waterproof Mascara delivers natural-looking long lashes that pass my “waterslide test” with flying colors. (Retail price $27.50)

7) Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette was originally a holiday offering, but this trio of complexion perfecting powders was such a hit, it’s been available ever since! I’ve purchased refills for myself, and have even given this as a gift I love it so much. (Retail price $62)

8) Philosophy Purity Made Simple is my go-to cleanser/makeup remover that’s a great balance between performance and price. Skin is left feeling clean and balanced. (Retail price $24 for 8 oz)

9) Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral is the perfect touch-up for those who need to reapply SPF before heading out in the afternoon. I’ve been buying this for so many years, I’ve lost count! (Retail price $30)

10) Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is another product that delivers great performance for a steal. This formula easily removes even waterproof eye makeup, and costs much less than similar products. (Retail price $11)

11) Clinique Broad Spectrum SPF50 Sunscreen wears beautifully under makeup, doesn’t look pasty white, and protects the skin so well! I’ve tried dozens of high-end sunblocks, but this is my favorite among them to wear under makeup, or stand-alone. (Retail price $23)

12) NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer became an instant favorite the first time I used it. This product delivers more coverage than the average tinted moisturizer, but still looks natural and “barely-there”. It’s ideal for daytime wear, or for a day at the beach! (Retail price $44)

13) Kate Somerville Exfolikate Body might be intended for all-over body use, but I also use this physical/chemical scrub on my t-zone to clear and refine pores. (Retail price $65)

These items can all be purchased from Sephora.com and many other beauty retailers. To read my individual reviews on each, click the hyperlinks above!

Some of the products mentioned above have been received as press samples in the past, but all have been re-purchased by me with my own money. Please click HERE to read my full disclosure.

Lancôme Juicy Shaker Glosses

NEW Lancôme Juicy Shakers

NEW Lancôme Juicy Shakers

beauty blog, makeup blog, product reviews blog, beauty reviews blogLancôme Juicy Shaker lip gloss is housed adorably in a cocktail-shaker shaped container, and features a formula of essential oils and pigment that you need to mix each time before applying!  The image above shows what the contents of a Juicy Shaker looks like unmixed.  They have a very cool striped appearance when the pigments have settled and the oils rise to the top.  This new gloss comes in twenty different colors, each named by the flavor of the gloss rather than the color itself!  This gloss has a thinner consistency than the original Lancôme Juicy Tubes, but the finish is similarly high shine, as if you just bit into a ripe peach and the juice is what stained your lips.  How delicious!

Retail price is $21 per gloss, but don’t forget that right now you can score 20% off any order at Lancôme with the promo code “FRIENDS”! What a great time to try a new gloss!  Keep scrolling for more Lancôme Juicy Shaker swatches and photos!

I didn’t get the chance to try out every single shade for your viewing pleasure, but certainly enough to give you a solid head start on a purchase decision!  The photo above features the same Juicy Shakers shown in the original image, this time blended, as well as swatches.  As you can see the color is sheer and super shiny, so colors that look like a deep red or bright orange in the bottle deliver a sheer wash of  color.  Shades featured above from left to right:  Berry In Love– a deep pink, Lemon Explosion– pale rose, Meli Melon– pink, and Boom-Meringue– peachy pink.

This second batch of Lancôme Juicy Shaker swatches features shades with a bit more color-payoff, as well as the unusual blue-hued shade I knew you’d want to see!  From left to right: Bohemian Raspberry– A deep raspberry pink, Wonder Melon– watermelon pink, Berry Tale– a deep berry pink, Mangoes Wild– orange pink, and Mint To Be– a super sheer blue hue.

Wrapping up my deep-dive into the new Lancome Juicy Shaker collection are some shades that lean a bit more orange!  Swatches above, from left to right:  Apri-Cute– medium orange, Show Me The Honey– a golden neutral, Freedom Of Peach– peachy neutral, and Cherry Symphony– succulent cherry red.

As I already mentioned, this gloss has a retail price of $21 per tube, but can be purchased at a 20% discount if you click the link below for Lancôme-usa and enter the promo code “FRIENDS” during checkout!  Sale ends on 8/27/16.

Issey Miyake L’eau D’Issey Pure

Issey Miyake L'eau D'Issey Pure

Issey Miyake L’eau D’Issey Pure

press-sampleInnocence is the first thing that comes to mind when I sampled the latest scent by Issey Miyake. This scent strives to capture the scent of a drop of water on a woman’s skin, and while there are plenty of floral hints to the scent, the overall impression to me is simply acquatic and clean.

Issey Miyake Pure

Issey Miyake Pure

Top notes of this scent are rose water, Cyclamen accord, Peony, White Lily, and Carnation heart.  Middle notes are florals, and base notes are woods, musk, Osmanthus, and Tuberose.

Issey Miyake L’Eau D’Issey Pure Review

L'Eau D'Issey Pure

L’Eau D’Issey Pure

The profile of an Issey Miyake bottle is instantly recognizeable. Simple, streamlined, and elegant.  Generally a crystalline sphere symbolizing a drop of water tops any bottle of Issey Miyake fragrance, but for artistic purposes this detail was skipped.  For L’Eau D’Issey Pure, the bottle is this rare and precious drop of water.  This scent is ideal for the woman who generally doesn’t like to wear perfume at all.  It’s very subtle, natural, and…pure!

Retail price is $108 for a 3.0 fl. oz. Eau de Parfum Spray, and $88 for a 1.6 fl. oz. Eau de Parfum Spray.  Retailers include Nordstrom, Sephora, Macys, and Lord & Taylor.
