Hi Shanice! In my most humble opinion, this flat iron beats my CHI hands down. However, I must note that my CHI is a few years old! I would highly recommend this flat iron, even for course hair. Although, depending on how long your hair is, you may want to try the 1.5″ model, to make quicker work of the straightening process.

is it really better then CHI? I had my heart set on a CHI flat iron, since im going to be taking better care of my hair on my own. I’m African American and I relax my hair but I still have problems getting it straight to the point were it will actually move. I also need a flat iron that will be kind to my new growth as it comes in and not over fry it. Is the Hana Elite the best choice?

I couldn’t agree more, Nicole! I retired my CHI as well! Although, to be fair, my CHI was on the old side.

I got this as a freebie too, but I totally love my Hana Elite and I think it works better than my CHI.
