MAC Studio Careblend Pressed Poudre In Gold-Go-Lightly

From MAC Surf Baby color collection comes MAC Studio Care Blend Pressed Poudre in Gold-Go-Lightly.  This pale-skinned blogger is always in search of a bronzer that’s light enough to look natural on my skin.  I’ve found it in Gold-Go-Lightly!

MAC Studio Care Blend Pressed Poudre In Gold Go Lightly Is Fab For Fair Skin

MAC’s Summer makeup collection actually offers tons of faux-bronzing options… so if you’re always searching–but failing–to find the perfect one for you, you may get lucky with these products!

This season, I’m really digging the matte bronze look. If you are as well, you’ll love Studio Careblend Pressed Powder. The finish of these bronzing powders is matte and natural. Truly it mimics a sun-kissed look!

Even the packaging is perfect.  The compact is sporting MAC’s towel-striped Surf Baby look, and the powder inside is embossed with the “MAC” insignia.

L’Occitane Pivoine Flora Color Cream Duo in Abricot

The art of writing is dying–in this blogger’s humble opinion. Electronic copy gives instant gratification and can quickly be broad-casted to the world. However, a part of me deeply misses rich, textured parchment paper, fine writing tools and wax to seal pristine envelopes. [Read more...]

Lady Blush Swatch MAC Cremeblend

lady blush swatchSo many swatches… so little time!  I took this photo of MAC’s “Lady Blush” from the MAC Cremeblend Blush collection and almost forgot to post it for your viewing pleasure!

I’m particularly happy to get the opportunity to sample shades like Lady Blush, as the apricot/earthy shade is truly universally flattering.  As you can see in the swatch, it’s suitable for the fair-skinned.  But it’s certainly opaque enough to be stand-out beautiful on dark skin as well!  I’m a big fan of the luminous finish.  I think it adds a youthful touch.

Retail price is $19.50.

MAC Cremeblend Blush

mac cremeblend blush

The name of my blog–perhaps not reflected upon quite enough–was intended to pay homage to the makeup trends of the past…  the very stepping stones to modern day makeup artistry.  The mothers of my generation wore “rouge”, and their teenaged Generation X daughters wouldn’t dream of touching the stuff… at least until now.

Spring 2011 has me totally enamored by cream-based cheek color launches.  Not one is actually called “rouge”, but let’s call a spade a spade, right?

MAC Cremeblend Blush launched on March 3rd.  The collection includes a range of pinks, peaches and mauves that are universally flattering and will have you thinking that maybe, just maybe, Mom wasn’t so hopelessly clueless after all.  The finish is youthful and dewy, and the color can be subtle or intense, all depending on how you apply it!

I love MACs application of the product on this model.  The creative use of MAC Cremeblend highlights the fact that rouge can be used in a creative, modern way.  Her entire face has an ombre appearance!

Retail price is $19.50.

Swatches (left to right):  quickie (a bright pink), indecent (a dark flesh-tone metallic), crush (a deep pink), bang (a sheer red) and fetish (a dark raisin).

Part of their Spring 2011 makeup collection, Urban Decay’s Afterglow cheek formula has a gel-like consistency.  The finish is sheer, yet still imparts the most fabulous vivid Spring color!  The formula contains skin-beloved ingredients like Vitamin E, Vitamin C and Vitamin A, so you’ll be giving your cheeks some much needed TLC while you wear it!  The team at Urban Decay recommends playing with this gem.  Swirl two shades together, or even dab a bit on your lips!

Housed in an adorable purple compact, these cheek tints are applied with the fingertips.  Simply blend into the apples of the cheeks and you’re set!

Retail price is $24 per compact.  This blogger gives Urban Decay Glide-On Cheek Tint two thumbs up!  My biggest dilemma since sampling this product is I simply can’t decide which shades to use each morning!
