Last year I featured Paco Rabanne 1 Million for Men, the original bold fragrance housed in a Gold Bullion container that is sure to make a splash even when just displayed on the vanity.
This year, the brand has introduced 1 Million Intense for Men, so I was curious to sample the product and see just how “intense” the scent was. My thoughts on the original 1 Million was that it was most certainly intended for a powerful man, so I was quite surprised that intense actually didn’t seem quite so intense! In fact, I like it even more than the original! Paco Rabanne 1 Million Intense is masculine, but not overpowering, and has a slight hint of sweetness. Notes are a combination of spicy and citrus.
Retail price is $63 for a 1.7 oz spray, and $84 for a 3.4 oz spray. Collections and layering options abound!

Did any of you ever watch the movie “Death Becomes Her” back in the early 90s? The concept was just hilarious. Goldie Hawn and Meryl Streep played frenemies with two things in common: their love interest (Bruce Willis) and the desire to look gorgeous forever. In the movie, a woman offers Meryl’s character a potion that will leave her forever young, and boy does the bottle of the new Killer Queen fragrance by Katy Perry look just like the magical little vial from that movie! In Estee Lauder’s words, this fragrance is “inspired by the intriguing duality of today’s woman”. Modern Muse marks the debut of Spokesmodel Arizona Muse for Estee Lauder.
The scent itself immediately blooms like a garden of flowers after application. Estee Lauder refers to the fragrance as a “lush floral”, and that is a wonderful description! The scent is sophisticated, elegant, and feminine. If you love florals, Modern Muse is a must-try!
Modern Muse is available now! Price per bottle: 1 oz. -$58, 1.7 oz. $79, 3.4 oz. $98.

I can’t imagine that a day will ever come that this blogger is not a huge fan of Lavanila Laboratories and their 100% natural scents. As I write this review of their Coconut Vanilla scent, an email just arrived to inform me of their new Fresh Vanilla Lemon collection… and I am already drooling in anticipation! [Read more...]
I don’t like to dwell too much on packaging, but the packaging for Carolina Herrera’s limited-edition 212 Glam fragrance is AMAZING so I have to at least make some mention of it. The outer casing is 50/50 metallic and clear jewel-toned red, and inside rests a two-sided fragrance container that looks almost like a time released pill! Each end of the capsule is a vial of perfume! [Read more...]
Giving the gift of fragrance can be tricky, but this time of year is when you get to redeem those GCs, return unwanted sweaters, and select your own gifts!
I adore the Coach fragrance lineup from the holiday season, and if I had a GC to spend (and hadn’t already received product samples) these gleaming metallic limited edition bottles would be my splurge! [Read more...]
Shopping with your children when they are young boys is a brief and painful experience. When it comes to browsing in Bath & Body Works, the task is a bit more relaxed and enjoyable. My boys smell every single candle, and one of the shops near my home even has a sink where they can lather up with anti-bacterial soap. They end up with clean hands, I end up with an opportunity to shop. Win, win!
Naturally I was captivated when I stumbled upon a Forever Red display while wandering about with my youngest. The red bottles lured me the way a bright light lures a moth. Sadly, I only discovered the scent when my son was already bored, so we headed out before I had time to play. [Read more...]
At my age, I’ve had the delightful opportunity to see trends come, go, and then come again. Fragrance is a great example of this. When I was coming of age in the 80s, popular fragrances were seductive and mature. Even as a 14-year-old, I was dipping into brands intended for much older women! And nothing… nothing… smelled like a cookie, or a candy, or food of any kind! [Read more...]
