Lavanila Vanilla Coconut Fragrance

I can’t imagine that a day will ever come that this blogger is not a huge fan of Lavanila Laboratories and their 100% natural scents.  As I write this review of their Coconut Vanilla scent, an email just arrived to inform me of their new Fresh Vanilla Lemon collection… and I am already drooling in anticipation! 212 Glam for Her, Carolina Herrera

I don’t like to dwell too much on packaging, but the packaging for Carolina Herrera’s limited-edition 212 Glam fragrance is AMAZING so I have to at least make some mention of it.  The outer casing is 50/50 metallic and clear jewel-toned red, and inside rests a two-sided fragrance container that looks almost like a time released pill! Each end of the capsule is a vial of perfume! [Read more...]

Holiday 2012: Coach Poppy

Giving the gift of fragrance can be tricky, but this time of year is when you get to redeem those GCs, return unwanted sweaters, and select your own gifts!

I adore the Coach fragrance lineup from the holiday season, and if I had a GC to spend (and hadn’t already received product samples) these gleaming metallic limited edition bottles would be my splurge! [Read more...]

Forever Red, Bath and Body Works Holiday 2012

Shopping with your children when they are young boys is a brief and painful experience. When it comes to browsing in Bath & Body Works, the task is a bit more relaxed and enjoyable. My boys smell every single candle, and one of the shops near my home even has a sink where they can lather up with anti-bacterial soap. They end up with clean hands, I end up with an opportunity to shop. Win, win!

Naturally I was captivated when I stumbled upon a Forever Red display while wandering about with my youngest. The red bottles lured me the way a bright light lures a moth. Sadly, I only discovered the scent when my son was already bored, so we headed out before I had time to play. [Read more...]

Donna Karan Woman

donna karan woman review

At my age, I’ve had the delightful opportunity to see trends come, go, and then come again. Fragrance is a great example of this. When I was coming of age in the 80s, popular fragrances were seductive and mature.  Even as a 14-year-old, I was dipping into brands intended for much older women!  And nothing… nothing… smelled like a cookie, or a candy, or food of any kind! Vanilla Summer by Lavanila

Lavanila Summer Vanilla review

Summer Vanilla, Lavanila Summer 2012

I tend to think of Vanilla as a warm, comforting scent to cuddle up with in cooler months.  For Summer 2012, Lavanila has decided to change my mind, mixing their yummy vanilla scent with a tropical concoction including mango, pineapple and coconut milk.  To me, however, the vanilla scent still didn’t synch with scorching hot summer days.  That’s why I’m mentioning this scent to you now.  Vanilla Summer is perfect for these tail-end days of Summer, as temps cool down a bit.  The weather is still summer, but there is just a hint of Fall in the air.  Vanilla Summer is the perfect olfactory selection for this time of year.

Retail price is $58 for a 1.7 fl. oz. spray bottle, and $19 for a travel-sized rollerball.  Don’t forget to layer with Lavanila Healthy Deodorant, for $18!

L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Collection

In my early 20s, I moved to the city I had always found most magical… Washington, DC! In the Spring, strolling solo from my apartment to the Jefferson Memorial was my absolute favorite thing.  In my childhood, the Jefferson Memorial was where I first thought, “This is where I want to live, someday.” [Read more...]

Kate Walsh Has A Billionaire Boyfriend!

Billionaire Boyfriend, Kate Walsh

I recently enjoyed a luxurious vacation destination in a warm climate. It was the kind of place where you’ll see parents circled by gaggles of crazy kids, yet Mom is still draped in jewels and designer accessories. In short, it was the kind of location that reminded me of Kate Walsh’s new fragrance Billionaire Boyfriend. [Read more...]
