I’ve had a difficult time relaxing lately.  My toddler is unusually difficult to put down for a nap, and my third trimester has me wiped out.  Yet, when I finally have the opportunity to relax, I toss and turn, sometimes never finding sleep.

We’ve been seeing a lot of Aerin Lauder in the press lately.  Despite the fact that Aerin is indeed an heiress… this media attention is not due to a DUI, sex-tape, or pantiless friend.  The media is clamoring over Estee Lauder’s announced release of the Tuberose Gardenia Private Collection.   

Now, I am a certifiable beauty addict… but the former fragrance addiction in me is all but kicked.  Once upon a time, I purchased perfumes in a frenzy and obsessively displayed them department-store style on my bedroom vanity.  Today, my few bottles are stored in a bathroom cabinet.  Some days I even forget to wear one! 

Tuberose Gardenia seems to be reviving my addiction.  It’s not just the notes of neroli, lilac, rosewood, tuberose, gardenia, orange flower, jasmine, white lily, carnation and vanilla bourbon (try saying that 10 times fast).  It’s the fact that similar to it’s namesake fragrance (Estee Lauder’s personal fragrance was also named “Tuberose Gardenia”) this perfume was originally formulated just for Aerin and her friends.  They all went so nuts over it, Aerin decided to release it to the masses.  Another reason I like this product is the sweet sentimentality.  The bottle itself is designed to resemble a necklace Estee gifted to Aerin.  The cap of each bottle is embedded with the same type of semi-precious gems adorning the necklace, making each bottle a tiny work of art. 

I know once the buzz of this new fragrance launch has subsided, Aerin will quietly recede back to her corporate life.  But I, for one, found it so refreshing to read about an heiress with a career, family and vision.  More Aerin, please!
