For my readers in Arizona, Maricopa County just launched a complimentary Title Alert system!
Fraud is on the rise, and among the things you have to keep an eye on is… believe it or not… your house!
Raging Rouge Beauty Blog: For Makeup Lovers Everywhere!
I’ve been trying to figure out a fun and creative way to officially announce my newest business venture here on Raging Rouge but I’ve consistently come up empty handed. I’ve decided to simply write a post about it because this weekend I am hosting an open house in this GORGEOUS property here in Phoenix Arizona! Naturally, my gorgeous RR readers in the Phoenix area are more than welcome to stop by! We can talk about rouge and Scottsdale real estate while you tour this resort-style property.
The featured home is located at 4355 East Kings Avenue in Phoenix, Arizona… just north of Paradise Valley. It’s 3,614 square feet of gorgeous tucked away in a quiet community in North Phoenix. Within a five mile radius of this home you can find: high end dining, tremendous amounts of shopping, golf courses, spas… it’s also a great choice for commuters because it has easy access to both the 101 and 51!
Over the past 15 years or so, I’ve kicked around the idea of studying for my real estate license. The major hurdle to my pursuit was the in-person and set hours requirements of the classes! As virtual options cropped up for the classes, as well as the ability to set your own schedule, suddenly this goal was easier to pursue! I started working as an agent full-time in March of 2023 and have been loving every minute of it. I’ve been working hard to develop my vision of what I’d like to do in this business, and I’ll be sure to tell you all about it when it’s live, but in the meanwhile I’d love it if you surf on over to AZRealtySearch.com to sign up for a complimentary market report or a home valuation! The analytical tools my broker provides to make an educated decision on your property are second to none.

What will I be stocking up on? These sales are usually a great opportunity for some mascara sampling. On April 1st Lancome Lash Idole mascaras will be 50% off so I’ll likely be grabbing a couple of them. Tarte Maneater Mascara is 50% off today, and Too Faced Better Than Sex mascaras will also be 50% off during the sale. IT Airbrush Foundation Brushes at 50% off are a must have if you don’t own any. IT Cosmetics makes the best makeup brushes, hands down! I’m a big fan of Peter Thomas Roth so I’ll be visiting Ulta on 3/24 to check out the surprise steal, and the Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion sunscreen on 3/27 at 50% off is a great buy for anyone with an upcoming spring break vacation!
Ulta has sent me press samples in the past. Affiliate links can be found in my content. Please click HERE to read my full disclosure.

Today I stocked up on my favorite shampoo and conditioner over at Ulta, where they are an incredible 50% off TODAY ONLY if you’re a fan of Klorane! Click HERE to shop at Ulta. The purchase got me wondering how long I have been using Klorane. I did a brief search of my own website and found a post I wrote back in 2016 that featured beauty products I buy over and over again. Today–six years later– I decided it would be fun to see what items on my original list I still buy, and what items have been replaced with something new. For kicks I’m going to sprinkle in some price history, so you can see how prices have changed over time as well. Enjoy!
1) Klorane Shampoo With Mango Butter was on my list in 2016 and remains on my list to this day. I specifically mentioned in 2016 that I even pack small versions to bring with me on vacations. Last week, my family and I were on vacation and I indeed had packed some travel sized Klorane! This formula is extremely gentle on my very sensitive scalp, so I do love to bring some with me to avoid hotel shampoos that tend to irritate me. The price was $20 in 2016 and is $22 now, but today at Ulta this is 50% off, so you can bet I stocked up! (Retail price $22– Sale price $11!)
2) Klorane Conditioning Balm With Mango Butter is the perfect match for the shampoo above, and leaves hair feeling super soft, healthy, and tangle-free! Yes, I still buy this as well! (Retail price $22– Sale price $11!)
3) MAC Eye Kohl has replaced Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencils as my “go to” liner. While I still do love Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencils, I was recently able to buy myself the MAC equivalent at a discount so I stocked up on some of my favorite shades. Both brands offer kohl pencils that deliver that soft, smoky look I love. The original retail price of a Make Up For Ever Kohl Pencil was $18 in 2016 and still is! In contrast, MAC Eye Kohl retailed for $17 in 2016 and now sells for $21. That’s a pretty hefty price hike! I purchased the eye pencils in Teddy, Feline, Costa Riche, and Prunella. Prunella is one of my all-time favorite shades, the slightly purple color makes brown eyes pop in a way that standard brown doesn’t. (Retail price $21)
4) Clean beauty is important to me, as my skin has become increasingly sensitive. I’m also a sucker for a good deal, so ELF Flawless Satin Foundation is my new go-to in the foundation category. This full coverage foundation is sublime, and when I need sheer coverage I use #12 on this list to custom mix my own tinted moisturizer. I’m loving the combination and the price is simply unbeatable. (Retail price $6)
5) Bobbi Brown Corrector is my long-time favorite under eye concealer. The slightly orange hue cancels out blue undereye circles like a champ. I don’t use concealer as often as I did back in 2016, but I do still have a Bobbi Brown Corrector cream concealer on the ready, just in case! Retail price back in 2016 was $27. (Retail price is $32)
6) Lancôme Definicils Waterproof Mascara delivers natural-looking long lashes that pass my “waterslide test” with flying colors. I still absolutely love Lancome and buy this formula and other waterproof formulas of Lancome’s all the time! I’m also branching out a bit however, and am currently sampling some new brands. I’ll circle back to let you know what I think! Retail price of this mascara back in 2016 was $27.50. (Retail price $29)
7) I’ve been playing with quite a few different shadow palettes these days, but one I still love is Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. At this point they have multiple iterations of this old fave of mine that launched back in 2010 (yes it has been that long). The original retail price of the Urban Decay Naked Palette was $44 back in 2010. By the time Naked Cherry launched in 2018, the price had crept up to $49. I recently purchased Naked3 and absolutely love the versatility of the shades. Neutral doesn’t have to be boring! (Retail price $54)
8) My skin sensitivity forced me to give up my my old stand-by Philosophy Purity Made Simple. These days I am using The Ordinary Squalane Cleanser, or Squalane Cleansers by different brands. The Ordinary is such an amazing line-up of basic skincare products with no added fragrance. This cleanser melts off my makeup and is so amazingly gentle. (Retail price $19.90 for 5 oz)
9) Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral is still my favorite touch-up for applying SPF over makeup. I mentioned in 2016 that I have been buying this for so many years, I’ve lost count! We can now add +6 to that lost count number of years, although I’m not sure the brand is still offering this mineral powder sunscreen to replenish! (Retail price $30)
10) Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover is another product that delivers great performance for a steal. This formula easily removes even waterproof eye makeup, and costs much less than similar products. (Retail price $11)
11) Clinique Pep Start Daily UV Protector is a formula that doesn’t look pasty white when applied. Clinique Mineral Sunscreen Fluid is ideal for sensitive skin. Both of these formulas wear beautifully under makeup and have an effective SPF 50! Back in 2016 I was already in love with Clinique suncare products and while my product of choice has changed what I have to say about the brand’s offerings remains the same. Clinique suncare balances effectiveness, quality, and price in a way that makes it a stand-out. I’ve tried dozens of high-end suncare products–many with a price 2x as high–but these are my favorite! (Retail price $23 for Pep Start or $31 for Mineral Sunscreen Fluid)
12) Aging skin makes foundation application tricky. Key to a beautiful finished product is moisture! I buy serum from The Ordinary to apply as a precursor to foundation application, and when I’m more in the mood for a tinted moisturizer I just mix it on the fly by combining two parts The Ordinary Buffet to two parts ELF Flawless Satin Foundation. The combination gives that “barely-there” look for more casual situations. (Retail price $30.90)
13) I now avoid physical scrubs like the Kate Somerville Exfolikate Body formula that I once loved. Currently I am using The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Masque which is a strictly chemical peel that is ideal for clearing clogged pores and hastening cell turnover. (Retail price $23 for 3.3 oz)
Well now! That was a fun walk down memory lane! I guess it is safe to say that I am extremely loyal to my favorites, since many of them from 2016 remain on my list! To read my original individual reviews on each product, click the hyperlinks above! Retailers include Ulta and Sephora.
Some of the products mentioned above have been received as press samples in the past, but all have been re-purchased by me with my own money. Affiliate links can be found in my content. Please click HERE to read my full disclosure.
