Urban Decay, eye pencil, 24/7, product review, beauty blogUrban Decay, eye pencil, 24/7, product review, beauty blog

It’s over… You’ve made your list and checked it twice.  Now that you’ve given and given, it’s time to refocus your attention on you!

I can’t think of any better way than to stock up on eye pencils for 2009 by buying these two 24/7 Travel Size Sets of Five eye pencil collections by Urban Decay.

Am I the only one who sees it?  For the holiday season, Urban Decay re-introduced the wildly popular “VIP” set of five boldly colored eye pencils. Then, during holiday 2008, Velvet Rope made its debut.  Both are intended to conjure up images of an evening out at an exclusive venue.  But when I look at these pencil collections, I see two cities.  Miami (VIP) and New York (Velvet Rope).  Velvet Rope contains dark, edgy eternally smudgy shades.  VIP contains bright, punchy, stand-out vibrant shades.  Each kit includes their #1 best-seller, the blackest black shade Zero, and retails for a mere $29!

I know… I know… You're thinking it's a bit late to be posting a stocking stuffer idea. The Alterna Moisture Travel Duo (value of $24) retails for $18, and pairs deluxe travel-sizes of Caviar Moisture Shampoo with Caviar Moisture Conditioner to pamper the tresses.

What do I love most about Alterna?  How they incorporate luxe components (like Caviar extract) and cutting-edge research into every product they sell.  Alterna Shampoos and Conditioners are also sulfate-free!  Alterna's Moisture Travel Duo might make a great stocking stuffer, but it's also a great gift for yourself!

holiday gift ideas, MAC shadow palette, Viva glam, beauty gifts

I know I should be giving you gift ideas for others right now… but if you buy this palette from MAC, you'll have a tough time parting with it.

This year's Viva Glam installation from MAC includes the incredible "Fascinating Ruby" shadow palette pictured at left.  It contains all of the shades you'll need to create either of the smoky eyes that are so incredibly hot this season.  A warm, chocolatey trio is paired with shades of gray so you can decide which to use on the run!

Looking for more shade options?  This palette is available in five shades:  Intriguing Scarlet (6 Warm Eyes), Infatuating Rose (6 Cool Eyes), Devoted Poppy (6 Classic Eyes) and Fascinating Ruby (6 Smokey Eyes– Pictured!)

Retail price is $38.

makeup review, tools, japonesque review, product reviewsWhile pregnant, hormonal changes left me hopelessly clumsy and forgetful.  During my first pregnancy, I slammed a beloved Gucci bag in my car door, breaking its metal piston closure neatly in two.  I was devestated.

But here's the good thing about buying luxe items– you can generally count on manufacturers to stand by their product.  Gucci happily fixed the broken clasp, and it set me back a mere $25.

I know tweezers may seem like a strange item to recommend as a holiday gift, but these tweezers by Japonesque are anything but ordinary.  The handles are inlaid with a mother-of-pearl appearance, and they are so precise you needent worry about frustrating hard to grasp brow hair or breaking a hair in two during tweezing!  These are tweezers intended for the pros, but available to we common folk!

Plus–similar to other luxe manufacturers–Japoneque stands by the condition of these tweezers.  If you ever think the tweezers have lost their edge, you can mail them in and they will be reconditioned at no charge!  Incredible!

Japonesque offers a wide variety of patterns and colors for you to select from, but three limited edition tweezers have been added to the selection just for the holiday season!  Gold, red and white pearlized handles bring a bit of style to the tweezing process.

Click HERE to visit Japonesque to check out their incredibly precise tweezers, among other things!  Online retailers include Ulta and Amazon.com

on10, dr. pepper gloss, gloss in tins, inexpensive holiday gift ideasI loves me a bit of nostalgia, and on10 embraces that love on two counts.  Firstly, each gloss tin in the "Dr. Pepper Good For Life!" Lip Balm set is adorned with soda ads of yesteryear, conjuring images of a time when things seemed simple and wholesome.  Secondly, the tins in this collection remind me of the gloss tins of my youth.  Easy to fit in a pocket, virtually indestructible on the playground and oh-so cute.

Nostalgia aside, these glosses by on10 are addictive!  Three different flavors (Original, Berries and Creams and Cherry Chocolates) each impart a slightly different hue of sheer berry color.  The glosses themselves make lips so soft! The gloss formula contains organic extra virgin olive oil, organic coconut oil, cocoa butter, beeswax, rosemary, vitamin e and even an SPF15!

Retail price is $38 for nine glosses.  You can easily split this kit for 9 stocking stuffers (one gloss each), three gifts (three different gloss favors for each person), or just keep them to yourself for a year's supply of gloss by on10!
