Dearest gentle reader… oh wait, that’s not my usual opening line. It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? Hopefully you’re in the mood for a juicy beauty review just in time for the summer season. I’m happy to be breaking my silence to introduce you all to the fabulous Hampton Sun Mineral Sunscreen products. As an Arizonan with ultra-sensitive skin, I am uniquely qualified to give these products a thorough test-drive. Do they protect the skin on extremely sunny days? Do they irritate sensitive skin? Do they stay put when you are perspiring? We all want to know!

I kicked off my testing with the Hampton Sun Mineral Age Defying Suncreen Face Creme. My husband and I enjoy long walks, and sun protection is absolutely essential here in the desert. Knowing that is true, I’ve still been skipping the sunscreen way more than I’d like to admit. Why? Many sunscreen formulas, including those that claim to be ideal for sensitive skin, will irritate me! It can take weeks for my skin to calm after one of these episodes, so as you can imagine this has resulted in me opting to go out bare-skinned rather than take a chance.
Lately though, I’ve applied both Hampton Sun SPF 50 Mineral Age-Defying Sunscreen Face Creme and Hampton Sun Mineral Sunscreen Body Lotion prior to heading out. My first impression was this formula feels fantastic on the skin. Some mineral sunscreens can feel heavy and greasy, but the Hampton Sun formula has a weightless feel with an almost powder-like finish. It actually feels terrific on the skin.
After walking–and yes–sweating. This sunscreen stays put. No amount of perspiration caused it to drip into my eyes. I even carry a water mister to stay cool when I’m out in the elements, and misting didn’t cause the formula to drip either. Most importantly, after weeks of usage, I can attest to the fact that this formula does not irritate my sensitive skin. No bumps, itchiness, or breakouts here! The Face Creme also wears beautifully under makeup. All around these two products are a huge win, and I would absolutely replenish them in the future!

The Hampton Sun SPF 30 Mineral Sunscreen features a spray application method, and generally I’m not a big fan of this particular application method. As a mother, however, I can attest to the fact that some children simply don’t tolerate the application of sunblock in lotion form. This spray easily covers larger areas of the body fast, with a similar weightless feel to the creme counterparts. Moms everywhere can rejoice that this option is available!

An SPF lip balm is a must, but I will admit that I don’t always wear one. I adore lip balm and reapply multiple times a day. Generally, I’m not a fan of the way some spf lip balm formulas feel on the lips. Hampton Sun feels terrific, and the oblong shape is a nice way to stand out!
Overall, I am loving this lineup of mineral sunscreen products and look forward to trying more in the future! Hampton Sun is officially a friend of “ours”!
