Frederic Fekkai MORE Shampoo and Conditioner

The man, the myth, the legend.  Frederic Fekkai.  Every woman in the world wants his expert hands wrist-deep in her hair.  Sadly, as he is a mere mortal, this is impossible.

Or is it?  Through his fantastic line of hair care products, Mr. Fekkai has found a way to contribute to fantastic hair on every head.

For several weeks, I have been using the MORE line shampoo and conditioner.  As promised, my hair certainly appears more voluminous.  I’m also satisfied in the knowledge that I’m treating my scalp well, to prevent future thinning.

That’s right.  Our hair may be full and lustrous now, but many of us have thin hair in our genes.  Think about it.  Is there a woman in your family tree with a visible scalp?  Your grandmother?  Your dear Aunt Ida?  My paternal and maternal grandmothers both had thin hair, a trait that could easily be in my future.  Using this product gives me comfort that I am doing everything possible to prevent that scenario from happening.

Bonus #1:  A small amount of product goes a long way, so a full sized bottle will last an eternity.  I have to use much less of this product than my usual shampoo and conditioner.

Bonus #2: The notes of driftwood, cedarwood, jasmine and musk have my husband constantly nuzzling his nose into my hair and telling me my hair smells "pretty".  I LOVE that!

While Mr. Fekkai’s products can be found at many major retailers, the MORE Kit is available exclusively through Sephora.

Happy #111! Sign Up To Win!

This marks my 111th post.  What a long way Raging Rouge has come in such a short time!  From a little-known ranting about all things beauty in January 2007, Raging Rouge now sees traffic from 36 of the 50 fine United States, my former hometown of DC, and 33 countries internationally. I certainly hope you’ve enjoyed my musings as much as I’ve enjoyed providing them!  I love feedback, so email me at ragingrouge@gmail.com with any input you may have!

One improvement I hope to make in the future is more regular newsletters. I’ve only sent them sporadically in the past.  So, to celebrate post #111 and to encourage you all to sign up for my newsletter, I’m holding a raffle!  On June 2, 2007, I will randomly select one of my newsletter recipients to receive a grand prize, chock full of product from Frederic Fekkai, Kinerase, Blinc, E.L.F., gloMinerals and Philosophy.  For a chance to win, simply enter your email address in the box at the top right-hand corner of your screen, under the words “subscribe to my newsletter”.  Not that one could put a price on such a fun thing, but the retail value of the product in the grand prize is approximately $475. Not too shabby!

Additionally, three lucky runners-up will receive a generous supply of Kinerase C6 Peptide Intensive Treatment and Kinerase Cream samples. If you were to purchase similar quantities of this product through retail channels, it would cost you over $300!

I’d like to take a moment to thank the fine people at Kinerase, Frederic Fekkai and Blinc for their generous product contributions. Without them, my prizes would certainly have been less impressive!

Here are some interesting facts about site-wide traffic that I’d like to share with you. Since it’s inception, the most popular domestic searches that have lead readers to Raging Rouge are for Dermadoctor Physical Chemistry and Benefit High Beam.

International interest in Valentino Rock and Rose perfume is intense. While I’ve never reviewed this particular product, people looking for it somehow end up coming to Raging Rouge! So, in quite a role-reversal, my readers have tempted ME to try something new. A review of this fragrance is a work-in-progress, and should be posted soon.

Contest Rules: Winners must be 18 years of age or older, have a mailing address in the US, and must agree to my disclaimer.  Winning email addresses will be randomly selected on June 2, 2007. Winners will be contacted via email for shipping addresses.  Email addresses will ONLY be used for ragingrouge.com purposes.  They will not be shared or sold.  Duplicate email entries will be deleted, so do not enter more than once!  Please refrain from entering every email address you have!  I’m relying on the honor system for this, but if I see any obvious duplicates, I reserve the right to delete!  PLEASE DO tell your friends and get the word out!  Good luck!

Lorac Cheek Stamp in Golden Glow

iconI finally got around to trying Lorac Cheek Stamp.  The application mechanism is terrific.  The diameter of the stamp ensures that blush is deposited perfectly on the apple of the cheek.  When I stamped my cheeks, my husband jokingly said I looked like "a clown".  He was totally right, at first…  Those clown-like circles easily blend into a flush on your cheeks.

I’ve adopted an interesting strategy for makeup hunting.  I check out the item I am interested in, determine which color has been used the least, and sample that color.  Even if you’re using the exact same product as everyone else, you don’t have to look like clones!

So it was with Lorac’s Cheek Stamp, in Golden Glow.  The pink and coral shades had seen heavy traffic at my local Sephora, and Golden Glow was sitting there lonely and sad… never touched.

Golden Glow is a wonderful choice for the summer.  My skin hasn’t seen the light of day in about a decade, and this product made me appear naturally sun-kissed.  Miracle!
