Beauty News: Aerie Makeup Launched By American Eagle

Launched at the American Eagle flagship store in NYC, aerie’s makeup collection made quite a splash! Shoppers received makeovers from celebrity makeup artists Searon McGratten and Pascale Poma, and also received an exclusive gift with any aerie Color purchase and an aerie Color Vast Lash Mascara with any aerie purchase of $35 or more. Some shoppers even posed for a “15 Seconds of Fame” photo studio and had their portraits projected onto the 15,000-square-feet Times Square LED screen. Now that must have made some interesting dinnertime conversation, that evening!

aerie Color includes Botanical Volugloss in eight shades, Superfruit Vitamin Gloss in nine shades, Vast Lash Mascara, which features industry’s first spiral rubber brush technology, four radiant eye shadow palettes with five shades in each and Forever Liner eyeliner, available in four shades. ($8.50 – $14.50).

I, for one, am dying to check out these new beauty products!

Beauty News: Juice Beauty Launches Makeup Line!

In April 2010, Juice Beauty will launch their very first line of color cosmetics! Introduced to the public at Aspen Fashion Week, the new line will be available in April 2010… Hopefully I’ll be able to post some images of the shades for you all!

As you know, dear readers, I LOVE palettes. I’m also a big fan of portability, so I’m really dying to get my hands on some Color Strips!

Since I boldly proclaimed MAC Spring Colour Forecast 4 as my favorite of the bunch… I figured it made sense for me to begin my makeup reviews here! The top image is from MAC, of the entire collection. The photo below it is mine, of the products that I sampled. I’ll state it plainly… I love each and every one of these four products, and recommend them ALL highly!

The Eyeshadow x4 compact contains the following (starting from top left): Manila Paper (pale frosted white gold), Flip (bronze gold), Aztec Brick (frosted true copper) and Creole Beauty (frosted dark golden brown). My favorite way to apply these shadows is as follows: 1) Apply Manila Paper on lids, 2) Apply Flip from crease up to browbone, 3) Apply Aztec Brick in crease and 4) Use Creole Beauty as an accent (upper and lower lashline). This shadow quad has quickly become my “go-to” Spring makeup pick for its versatility (skip the darker shades for a more casual look, or use them for more drama). I also LOVE the magnetic closure on the palette!

The latest limited-edition introduction by MAC is a smash hit. The gradient design of Blush Ombre in Springshine makes the product so versatile! Swirl it to use as a bronzer, or just for a touch of tan on the cheeks. Or, use the darker section for contouring, and the paler section for highlighting! Either way, you end up with a sun-kissed look that is most welcome!

Retail price is $25 for Springshine Blush Ombre, and $36 for Eye Shadow x4 Colour 4.
