Estee Lauder’s Pure Color lipstick never disappoint. Their buildable color is perfect for women who prefer just a touch of color, or those in search of major drama! The formula applies smoothly, and has a lightweight moisturizing feel. For these reasons, the Pure Color Lipstick remains a favorite of mine. Estee’s latest–the Wild Violet collection–includes two color families: Wild Violet and Wild Coral. After all, Lauder is famous for providing choices!

The Wild Coral color collection contains Pure Color Lipstick in the shade Wild Fire. Described as a bright coral, it’s a very-wearable way to embrace the “orange lip” that is increasingly popular in 2011.

The Wild Violet collection contains Pure Color Lipstick in Wild Violet. The shade is a deep bluish-pink with a metallic shimmer, and is youthful and fresh. (And also sold out, on the Estee Lauder website!)

How To Use MAC Cream Colour Base?

Ever wonder how to use MAC Cream Colour base? The answer is: however your imagination allows! Select colors from the product line are not recommended for use around the eyes or lips (be sure to determine the few in this category before you buy), but most shades can be used on anything or everything!

From Stylishly Yours, the Cream Colour Base swatches above are Movie Star Red (left) and Virgin Isle (right). They are super-bright pops of color, and I wouldn’t recommend them for the cheeks. But as a lip shade, or a super-trendy creamy shadow shade, they are positively unbeatable! To have such a versatile product in one little compact is perfect for travel.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream: 13, 5, 15

“It was an honor just to be nominated” is the shallow thanks that most losing contestants falsely claim. But truthfully, I was so honored when Make Up For Ever asked me to participate in their Rouge Artiste lip-look contest… my feelings weren’t remotely hurt when my stripy-80s homage lip creation placed in the bottom-half of the 8 lovely looks. I had SO MUCH fun creating my contest entry!

Given that I already felt like a winner, you can imagine my surprise when Make Up For Ever sent me an amazing little train case filled with product to “thank” me for participating in the event. THANK ME? I still feel like I should be thanking THEM!

Anywho, the loverly team at Make Up For Ever passed along the most delicious Aqua Creams for me to play with. Swatched above, for your viewing pleasure are 13, 5 and 15 (from left to right). Together, they appear to be a Neapolitan Ice Cream color combination, no?

Aqua Cream is a whipped-creamy concoction that delivers rich, blendable color that also happens to be waterproof! Some shades have a cheek/lip dual use, and others are intended for cheeks and eyes. I immediately loved shade 5 on the cheeks. The peachy pink color is so youthful and dewy, without being overly shiny. 13 and 15 paired together create an intense naked eye, but my personal preference is to use 13 as a highlighter on the cheeks, and 15 as a quickie lid shade.

The more I sample from this brand… the more I adore it.

MAC Kissable Lipcolour is a brand-spankin-new MAC product that was launched with the MAC Peacocky collection. Kissable Lipcolour is a highly opaque gloss with a whipped-cream consistency, and tremendous color payoff. The name “kissable” might be misleading. I assure you this product will kiss off (my little boy had a bright lip-print on his forehead when I kissed him while wearing Scan Delicious). Interestingly, it seems to be a gloss/stain hybrid, and leaves color behind even when the glossy finish wears away.

Kissable Lipcolour claims to fame: rich, saturated color and a rainbow of hue choices (yes–there is even a blue shade among them for the brave few).

Neon Orange Lipstick Review: MAC Stylishly Yours

Stylishly Yours, Neon Orange, Spring 2011 Lipstick for 30s Did you see the Pantone 2011 color of the year? Well, do check out “Honeysuckle” when you get the chance. The indication is clear: Spring of 2011 will be noticeably brighter than the Spring of 2010.

I’ve heard it said that if you wore a trend the first time it was hot, you’re too old to wear it the second time ’round. Well, forget that! Who cares about age? I loved the bright devil-may-care shades of the 80s, and am thrilled they’re back front and center.

In this blogger’s humble opinion, the key to embracing a trend the second time around is moderation. In my early ‘teens, I would have worn the entire MAC Stylishly Yours collection from eyelids to lips. As a 30-something, “moments” of these bright neon shades are more appropriate.

My #1 pick from Stylishly Yours for those of us who have already lived the 80s the first (and best) time around is the amazing bouquet-bright lipstick collection. Pictured in this post is Neon Orange, a super-opaque shade that is not only bright, but sophisticated and luxe at the same time. If the traditional red lip is the obvious choice for women in search of instant sex appeal, the wicked step-sister to that shade is MAC Neon Orange. Applied, the lipstick is a super-sizzling bright orange. Blot just a tad, and you look like you’re the kind of person who summers on the French Riviera. Classy and on-trend at the same time!
